Emmaus
Welcome!

Thanks for visiting the official site of Emmaus,  launched in Feb of 2008!

Find anything and everything you're looking for related to Emmaus music, including the new song downloads from our first album release entitled "Emmaus".

Emmaus exists to inspire others with
the life and passion of Jesus Christ. We want to write songs that move others to begin looking to God and His scripture to define their human experience. Scripture is full of examples and stories of real people who discovered God's rescue and love despite being shipwrecked, enslaved, in times of despair or grief. We've all made a mess of our lives and are in need of a Savior....no matter the tune, that's the message we want to deliver.

Our prayer for ourselves and also for you is that our music and worship would remain true to the patterns and expressions of the historic Christian church which has throughout time extended the invitation of Christ himself to every man, women and child.

The Name

(eh·may’·us)

In the 24th chapter of his gospel, Luke tells the story of two travelers on a journey together to a city called Emmaus. Along the way they fall into step with a third traveler who listens to their story and shares in their conversation. This third traveler shares a perspective that is so life-giving that the two urge him to stay with them for dinner. And as they break bread together they realize - with amazement and joy - that the third traveler is Jesus Christ, risen from the dead!

We’ve taken “Emmaus” as the name for our church community because this story absolutely captures our hearts.

Emmaus Worship

Worship at Emmaus flows out of the hearts and minds of a broken yet hopeful people - a people being transformed by God's forgiveness and grace along with a committment to share life and discover Jesus with each other. We place a high value on life and creating an environment where every person is encouraged to grow, serve others, experience God and seek His truth.

We are the Emmaus Church Community of Lincoln, California and we desire to bring everything we have back to God for His fame and to be used for His purposes.

Our motivation is to be an authentic people, to become a transformational community of compassion who help bring God's truth, freedom and life into the darkest parts of ourselves, our neighbors and the world.

We meet consistently to listen, experience and respond together to and with our Creator. We place the name and life of His Son Jesus, our only rescue, above any other.

We acknowledge God as the Center and Creator of the universe. We long for His fame and glory instead of our own.

Prisoners of Hope

Because of Christ and His ressurection we have become prisoners of great hope. We can not escape his love and forgiveness. Therefore, we have accepted God's interest to know and be known by us, His creation. We are eternally grateful to Him for extending the gift of life and faith to us and to all of humanity, an act that required a costly and perfect sacrifice. Whether circumstance finds us well or in great despair...we can not help but celebrate God for who He is, what He's done and what He will continue to do by the inspiration of His Holy Spirit and through the life and message of His Son Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world. He has offered us life and we will spend eternity giving it back to Him.
